Cell phones are great means of communication for many people nowadays. This simple device can get messages across much more quickly. Just press some numbers and you're off to conversing with the man of your dream! Yet a lot of girls feel anxious when they need to speak to a man on the phone. If you're one of these women, here are tips to keep your cool while talking to him:
OUTLINE WHAT YOU'LL TALK ABOUT.
This doesn't mean that you should go ahead and memorize what you'll say to the guy. Doing so would make you sound too rehearsed. If you want to sound spontaneous, make sure that you have a number of topics that you can discuss with him. You can only make the conversation more fluid by...
STUDYING THE THINGS THAT MAKE THIS GUY TICK.
So what interests this man? You can only plan your conversation strategy when you know what actually makes him want to listen. Is he into sports or is he the type of guy who'd rather discuss the novels that he has read? Know what he likes and you won't have a problem coming up with topics to talk about.
ALWAYS BE SUBTLE.
Remember that you're still a lady and are supposed to act (or sound) like one. Omit your fillers such as "uhhhh" or "uhmm". These words only make you sound nervous so practice talking without these. Don't come on too strong to him or he'd feel intimidated, or worse, he might get scared of you!
DO SOUND CONFIDENT.
The only way that this guy would listen to you is if he feels that you can keep up with any kind of conversation. And you can only achieve this if you're well-read and if you embrace knowledge. Don't just be the type of girl that talks only when the topic is about gossip or fashion. Be ready to say your piece with political topics or the latest in business trends.
DON'T LET THE CONVERSATION DRAG.
Make sure that you don't bore him unnecessary questions and those that are only answerable by yes or no. Make him expound by asking him open-ended questions.
SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND OPEN YOUR EARS.
Be aware of the amount of time that you spend speaking. Though you might feel elated to have him on the line with you, just make sure that you would also give him ample time to talk. Don't drown him with stories that are all about you.
HAVE THE RIGHT ANSWERS.
Wouldn't it be embarrassing for you to respond to him with an answer that is so out of the topic? Imagine him telling you that his favorite movie of all time is 'Casablanca' and you inappropriately respond with "Was that the DiCaprio starrer?"
