This was an incredibly hard list to pick, because there were 5-10 songs that could have easily been added. Even though their past few albums have been pretty spotty, it's amazing what a remarkably consistent career these guys have had.

10. Crash! Boom! Bang! (1994) - Despite the many exclamation points, a restrained, slow-burning ballad. Marie's always been the master at delivering songs like these, but this one in particular feels incredibly heartfelt.

9. The Centre Of The Heart (2001) - An electronic-leaning, uptempo pop song that introduced them for a new millennium. It still sounds fresh today.

8. Listen To Your Heart (1989) - Their first big ballad and the template for many, many more afterward. It really is a masterclass in pop songwriting.

7. Stars (1999) - Easily their most offbeat, clubby single, this was a refreshing change of pace for the band. The music video is also one of their very best.

6. Dangerous (1989) - Another example of how on-top-of-their-game the band was in the late 80's/early 90's. This is a pop melody without any fat at all. Proved that The Look was no fluke.

5. Spending My Time (1991) - The first selection from the duo's best album, Joyride, this took their ballad-writing skills to an even more polished, mature level. The emotive chorus is one of their best.

4. It Must Have Been Love (1990) - Probably their best-known single in the States, it rightfully goes down as their most enduring ballad. There's just something about the melody and vocal performance that sticks, no matter how many times you hear it.

3. The Look (1989) - The first song I ever heard from the band, and the one that made me a fan. That guitar riff and verse melody is unmistakable. Massive pop song.

2. Fading Like A Flower (1991) - I think this marks the perfect middle-ground between their ballad and uptempo sounds. The propulsive chorus is absolutely galvanizing. To me, this era was Roxette at their absolute finest.

1. Joyride (1991) - One of the most joyous pop songs ever to hit number one in the States (and around the world). This track not only kicked off their best album, but manages to endure through the years despite (or because of?) its cheesiness and 90's production tricks. Simply put, an epic song is an epic song, no matter when it's recorded.

So there you go! But here's the thing, no list is complete without hearing what you think! Leave your top ten Roxette songs in the comments!

Source: pickup-girls-advices.blogspot.comAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09816981287589272173noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7832788629786263666.post-78019437163894683492015-02-14T12:43:00.000-08:002015-03-29T16:06:23.273-07:00Feminism Comes Full Circle Into Embracing Aristotles Natural Slavery

"The woman follows the man. In her youth she follows her father and elder brother; when married, she follows her husband; when her husband is dead, she follows her son." - Confucius

Aristotle made a cruel observation regarding human nature in his treatise on politics that continues to offend sensibilities to this day. He argued that some people were slaves by nature, and the proper course for such individuals was to subject themselves to the rule of their superiors. Aristotle argued that "natural slaves" lacked the reason to think properly and thus slavery was as beneficial to them as captivity was to cattle (to protect them from wild predators).

He believed that slavery was a perfectly natural condition since too many managers and too few workers would halt productivity, to invoke a modern metaphor. Who are natural slaves? We see them all around us every day. They are accountants, doctors, engineers, construction workers, and all those who possess enough reason to excel at their work without questioning the status quo. They are individuals who want a cushy job while surrendering difficult decisions to the nanny state.

Aristotle understood the limitations of his theory, as some that possessed the souls of free men became enslaved while those that were slaves by nature became free. It is my belief, however, that those that are slaves by nature will choose slavery if given free choice and those that are masters will rise given the same environment of freedom.

A couple of years ago I asked a middle aged female co-worker what she would do if she had a million dollars. She informed me that she would spend the money on repairs and renovation of her house in addition to paying off her mortgage. She had spent the money in a matter of seconds and informed me that a million dollars wasn't enough to gain financial independence. She concluded the conversation by stating that she would be back at her desk even if she won a million dollars at the casino. This individual is a natural slave. But what does all of this have to do with feminism? We shall examine the connection below.

THE FIRST FEMINIST

Mary Wollstonecraft has the dubious honor of being recognized as the first liberal feminist in History. Her major endeavor was "vindication for the rights of women." One of the central arguments that the work advocates is that society should respect the rational autonomy of women. She formulated this argument in the broader context of women's education, which was a widely debated topic during her lifetime.

Wollstonecraft believed that women had the same capacity to grow as men did and that a well rounded education could aid women in becoming contributing members of society. Her arguments seem tinged with Kantian ethics, which were quite the rage during the enlightenment. Contemporary feminists are still divided on whether Wollstonecraft should be considered a true feminist or not given that she did not challenge the primacy of gender roles.

Wollstonecraft's works provided a tremendous ideological thrust for the suffragists, but this nascent feminist movement still lacked a central ideology until the rise of gender feminism in the 60s. Much of the Marxist rot that saturates society today has its origins in the gender feminist movement of the 60s. The suffragists still saw themselves as members of a particular ethnic group and preoccupied themselves with the interests of those groups.

For example, an Irish suffragist was still proud to be Irish just as a German suffragist was proud to be German. Gender feminists would eventually tell women that nationalism was "masculinized history" and that women mustn't take pride in their ethnicity and culture, but rather from their Marxist class identity: "women." Unsurprisingly, the average North American feminist is concerned more with the education opportunities of Afghan women than she is with the plight of the homeless man down the street.

THE PATH CONTINUES

Betty Friedan -- three guesses why she became a feminist

?

Betty Friedan famously argued that a woman had no identity outside of a few roles that society had forcefully assigned her, such as wife and mother. To Friedan, these roles were wrongly at the core of a woman's identity instead of her inner characteristics (such as her intellect) and achievements. So far both Friedan and Wollstonecraft seem to agree that women need to develop their characters and inner faculties independently of the limited roles that society has accorded them.

Where they seem to differ lies in their attitudes toward culture and society. Wollstonecraft never attacked gender roles and saw the education of women as a means to an end: producing a better society. Friedan and later feminists weren't concerned with the well-being of society so much as they were with re-constructing culture on their own terms. For the sake of brevity let us just say that Wollstonecraft and the suffragists had a holistic objective in mind (the interests of society as a whole), whereas second wave feminists had a solipsistic objective in mind: the interests of women (as a Marxist class) at the expense of society.

THE THIRD WAVE

Third wave Feminism saw the loosening of social expectations aimed at policing women's behavior. Expectations pertaining to responsible alcohol consumption, sexual behavior, and even appearance were all summarily carpet bombed by feminists under the banner of "choice." The case of Hamilton and Hylton is worth mentioning, as it sends out a clear signal that women are simply not accountable for their actions.

Put another way, women are treated like children and feminists actually prefer it that way. The modern feminist mantra "Don't teach me to do x, teach men not to do y" reeks of narcissistic entitlement. Fat acceptance feminist Lindy West illustrates this childish mindset perfectly. To West, it is more logical for society to alter its aesthetic taste than for obese women to go on a diet.

The sentiment "Why should I change? Everybody else should change to accommodate me!" is the thinking of one whose mental faculties have not reached maturity. This is sort of immature mindset that Schopenhauer prophetically criticized as thus:

?

"Women are suited to being the nurses and teachers of our earliest childhood precisely because they themselves are childish, silly and short-sighted, in a word big children, their whole lives long"

Third wave feminism has vindicated Aristotle's views on human nature. That when given unfettered freedom, women choose to yield to their inner nature and become big children. Children, as we all know, need a guardian and that role is fulfilled by the nanny state. It is worthwhile to note that old fashioned liberals like John Locke (Life, Liberty, Property) argued in favour of individual freedom by limiting the powers of government. Contrast classical liberalism with female infested modern liberalism where "oppressed groups" tilt the resources of the majority toward themselves using a bloated nanny state as their lever.

John Locke -- perhaps more handsome than Betty Friedan

?

Strong willed men have historically desired small government whereas "strong and independent" women desire the very opposite. It is clear that women subscribe to a very different definition of freedom compared to men. Men desire freedom from government whereas women desire freedom from sociocultural obligations where the cost of their impropriety is borne by society and enabled by the state. Can you guess which definition of freedom would be agreeable to the overlords of the encroaching police state?

Third wave feminism brings the feminist enterprise full circle, as it liberates the very shortcomings of female nature that the earliest feminists believed were the product of patriarchal subjugation. The dementia of the feminist movement extends well beyond the vapid dogmas that comprise its ideological core. The root of its dementia lies in the movement's belief that women can be free of their nature; that somehow feminism can undo thousands of years of female evolution.

Ironically, the case against feminism is best made by feminism itself.

READ MORE: "ANOTHER WHINY FEMINIST REVEALS THE HYPOCRISY OF FEMINISM AND SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS"

Posted on Tue, 03 Feb 2015 22:00:55 +0000 at http://www.returnofkings.com/54181/femin...al-slavery

Comments: http://www.returnofkings.com/54181/femin...y#comments

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09816981287589272173noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7832788629786263666.post-90177762432458249472015-02-10T04:19:00.000-08:002015-02-15T11:38:16.624-08:00New Materials 92509 100109

" Title "
Author
Prefix / Call Number

" How we die : reflections on life's final chapter "
Nuland, Sherwin B.
128.5 NULAND

" Vision quest : Native American magical healing "
Moondance, Wolf
299.7144 MOON

" The mom & pop store : how the unsung heroes of the American economy are surviving and thriving "
Spector, Robert, 1947-
381 SPECTOR

" Fitness walking for dummies "
Neporent, Liz
613.71 NEPORENT

" Cheating death "
Gupta, Sanjay
616.02 GUPTA

" Desperately seeking snoozin' : the insomnia cure from awake to Zzzzz "
Wiedman, John
616.8 WIEDMAN

" Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove cookbook. Self Help - Tips

Search by author, title or content

Article Title NameArticle ContentAuthorMaisonSoumettre of articlesDirectives auteurDirectives EditeurFlux contenuFlux RSSFAQContactez What we

that self-esteem and self-confidence, you ask? In a word, it is the personal belief that we have in ourselves that we can try and make something new and exciting, which allows us to face head on armed with the knowledge that we can succeed. Those with higher levels of self-esteem and self-confidence generally tend to succeed in the tasks and goals they undertake, in part due to the fact that they hold both a strong belief in themselves and in their ability to cope with and overcome the challenges they may encounter. Success breeds confidence

, but without the esteem and confidence of success can rarely become a reality. In general, we underestimated the strength of the support and encouragement of self, and neglect the positive effects that simply believing in ourselves and our capabilities can bring. Ultimately, something as simple as saying "we" as opposed to fear or lose result in advantages and disadvantages can be the difference between success and failure. So, without further ado, I present to you 3 simple steps that you can use to increase your levels of both self-esteem and confidence, and greatly improve the quality of your life. These 3 steps have helped both myself and many others to achieve high levels of self-esteem and self-confidence, and allowed us to significantly improve the quality of our lives

TIP 1 -. Write a list of things you like or are happy with, about yourself. All

will, like the color of your eyes or that you know something that not many people. Essentially a positive thing will do, as it highlights something special for you. By focusing only on the positive aspects of yourself, you create a positive state of mind which in turn can be used to high levels of port-esteem and self-confidence. You imagine someone unique and special, even if you do not believe with all my heart. Put the list visible place, and in moments of doubt and simply give the list a quick glance to remind you of the special qualities that you have. TIP 2 -. If there is something you are not happy with yourself, work to change today

Only action that we can see the result, and making a change now, you will see the results of your work much more quickly and with fervor instead of putting out gym for another week or delaying your hair until you have a few extra dollars in the bank. justify the expense or work by setting small, achievable goals such as paying a pound or two times a week and taking pride in the fact that you have managed to achieve. Remember, the key here is to set small, realistic goals that you know more than possible to do, and began to reach

TIP # 3 -. Finally, erase all doubt from your mind. Contrary to think negative things that could happen or problems that may arise to do something, just do it. If you can not succeed, then you have gained valuable experience, and if you really succeed, then you have done something you can be proud of. The only real failure in life is to let your fear and self-doubt control, preventing you from taking any action at all visible. In the end, it is better to have tried and failed hundreds of times while walking to and live with the regret of you wondering what could have been for the rest of your life. While you can spend years learning about this approach, you can reap many benefits by learning how to use a few easy applications. NLP progresses by changing up the way you talk to yourself or others, and how you foresee events and memories in your mind's eye. This article will present to you some standard ideas on how NLP can be advantageous for you, no matter what your particular intentions are.

One thing you'll discover about Neuro Linguistic Programming is the multitude of means by which it can be learned. One approach that many people have used is subliminal recordings of NLP techniques. While you listen to the recording, the idea is your unconscious mind picks-up the subliminal information, and then the mind incorporates it and the change takes place. Also, these subliminal recordings are designed to target either something highly specific or of a general nature such as self esteem, for example. A couple of quick examples include help to quit smoking, increase your self confidence, support when you're trying to lose weight, and there are many others.

Much about Neuro Linguistic Programming concerns the way we look at events in our life, or things in our life, and so redefining that perspective is called, reframing, and it is extremely powerful. What happens is simply redefining, or changing, how something is viewed or thought about in our minds. In many instances, reframing allows us to feel better about something, or at least take away a negative feeling we have about it. This technique is used quite skillfully in politics and sales, imagine that, and it acts to influence perception. In political campaigns, both sides will use their own type of reframing over the exact same issue to influence how people think. When age is the issue, one side will say it's too great of an age, and the other will say there is wisdom and experience in age.

The willingness to take a deep look at what you believe, and then have the courage to go beyond and change your perceptions is critical to changing your life. It's well known that children learn what to believe about themselves, and then the tendency is to carry those beliefs into adulthood without ever questioning the validity of those beliefs.

Here's a simple example - perhaps you were told, as a child, that you didn't have any type of talent for music. That seed planted in childhood will still be there as an adult, and the person will have a "natural" aversion to ever being interested to play an instrument or learn music. The path to being free of that limiting belief is for the adult to question the validity of that belief. NLP teaches you that your beliefs about yourself and the world are not fixed and can always be changed. This can be applied to improve every aspect of your life. Neuro linguistic programming is a practice that thousands of individuals have had success with for more than three decades. Because it is based on techniques and results, new approaches are always being discovered. The approaches for using NLP that we have explained here are just a few of the advantages you can reap from by learning more about this really useful personal growth system.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09816981287589272173noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7832788629786263666.post-32369856478924959692015-01-26T20:11:00.000-08:002015-02-18T04:33:37.091-08:00The True Essence Of Romance What Every Woman Wants And Needs

Let's look at a wonderful movie in which to see the personification of the proper expression of "romantic."

(After yesterday's diatribe, today's edition is short and sweet!) Happy St. Valentine's Day, to those of you who live where it is celebrated, and a wonderful day to the rest of you as well. Since St. Valentine's Day is today held as a day of romance (it was originally a day set aside for old flames to get back in touch with each other, and it was okay on that day for women to let previous suitors know that they were again entertaining gentlemen callers, usually after a broken engagement or they were widowed, and therefore had nothing to do with existing couples), let's take a look at a movie that gives a very clear picture of what "romance" and "romantic thought" is really about. It's called "Don Juan DeMarco," and it's at all of the better movie rental houses.

For those who have not seen the movie, you have been missing out, especially if you are a man trying to get a grip on the rules of romance and attraction. In a nutshell, Johnny Depp plays the main character, Don Juan DeMarco, who is a 21-year old man who has decided that his life has been fulfilled as he has romanced the 1,000th woman of his lifetime. He climbs a billboard and says that he will throw himself to the street if he is not allowed to duel with another Spanish don who lived in the 17th century, a contemporary of the original Don Juan.

Marlon Brando is playing a psychiatrist who just happens by, talks him down off the billboard by posing as another don who invited him to come down and discuss life with him, and promptly admits him at a local psychiatric facility where he works. Brando thinks at first he is schizophrenic, until he starts to see that DeMarco's not delusional at all, that he merely chooses to look for the best, the greatest, the most heroic, and most enjoyable in everything he sees.

I won't spoil the rest of the movie for you, but the way that DeMarco looks at things, seeing the mental hospital as the don's villa instead of the doctor's treatment center, seeing women as beautiful, sexy creatures who want to be wanted and who want to express their sexuality, focusing only on the best in everything is what I want you to see. He is taking it to the extreme, but there are times and situations when it is safe to take romance to this same extreme.

If you do so when it is safe, and let yourself be swept up in it when nobody can be hurt by it, it helps make you more acutely aware of the beauty, wonder, heroism, humor, and other things around you that you can still appreciate even when things are bad, so that you can see the proverbial sliver lining in clouds and not let bad situations overwhelm you. Instead you can keep your chin up, shoulders back, and be inspired by the romance of even the worst situation and overcome it, instead of being swallowed by it and becoming a has-been who gave it up instead of a hero who gave his all.

This is something that everyone, especially the woman in your life, just loves to see. Indeed, the reactions of the women in the movie to the somewhat exaggerated romanticism is not at all exaggerated. I've seen them first hand, reacting to things I've done, and watched them grip tablecloths, napkins, sofa cushions, until their knuckles turned white as they fell under the spell of romanticism; while in my twenties, I watched one woman clench her fist until her nails dug into her palm and bled as I described an interpretation of a dance to her. When I saw the blood drip from her fist, I grinned a naughty grin and said, "You sprung a leak, there, didn't ya?" She knocked me flat on my back, saying, "Yeah, and you're about to!" tore our clothes to shreds trying to get us out of them, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Women will literally kill to feel attraction, and if you can't make them feel it at least sometimes, it doesn't matter how much they love you, they will be driven to have somebody make them feel it or they will fall into a depression that can after a time become suicidal, and you cannot blame them for this in any way. Make no mistake, this need is 100% biological, and there is no amount of love, faith, religion, guilt, or even brute force or beating than can stop them from needing it and responding to either finding it or lacking it.

It may take a few years for them to gradually decline, and they may leave you before you ever see the full force of the decline as a survival mechanism takes over, but lost attraction and boredom are a major cause of midlife-onset depression, substance abuse, spousal abuse, and suicide, and since women don't always recognize and treat their needs because they get caught up in the needs of their family, the drama of hardship, etc. It is YOUR job, as the man in their life, to recognize their need for this feeling and provide it; it is the price you pay for their nurturing and all the other things they provide for you. Anything you do that creates this feeling for them will be repaid many times over; it is the only sure thing that you are likely to ever encounter in this life.

Creating attraction is not difficult, IF you know how to create it, and not hard to maintain if you also know how to avoid killing it, which under some circumstances can be done with as little as a glance or a word. "THE Man's Guide to Great Relationships and Marriage" was written for the sole purpose of making your long-term relationship all that it can be, by teaching you how to evaluate and manage a relationship, how to communicate with a woman on a level that will give you the answers to the ancient question, "What makes women tick and what do they really want?" and to give you that understanding of the nature, creation, and destruction of attraction. (In the unfortunate case that you are paired with someone who is a hopelessly bad match and with whom you can never be happy, it will also help you to figure that out, get out, and find someone infinitely more suitable so that you both can be happy.) Now, think about this for a second...

If you could buy dinner for two and have your dinner guest tell you what women really want, what makes them tick, how to talk to and listen to them, how to turn them on and off sexually, and how to make sure that they would be fun and exciting for the rest of your life, and if it turned out that you couldn't or just plain didn't use what they told you they'd send you the money for the check, would you do it? I'd have bought that dinner a hundred times over to get back the first umpteen years of my adult life, before I did the research to write this book. I'd be coming up on my 25th anniversary instead of my 12th, too, and would likely have been in my first marriage instead of my fourth, because I would have chosen well the first time and made it work instead of having to go through three false starts when I was probably too young and immature to be married at all.

It's never too late to take corrective action, and it's never too soon to start preventive maintenance. The sisterhood in me is saying you go girl (and boys!), but the online dating bit of me is saying back off bitch! All in all I'm delighted you've been inspired by the blog. Please continue to email me and let me know how's it's going! I want to know! I'm happy to offer any first date advice! Equally if you have a horror story share! A problem shared is a "problem" avoided by the rest of us!

So how do I get these guys to go on dates with me? Well generally men are easy enough to seduce online, a click here and wink there and they are generally mine. And it helps that I'm 23 in most of my profile pictures. Joking! 25..... You see the thing about online dating is that you can pretty much flirt with anyone and get away with it. It's like I say, have you ever looked at a couple and said to yourself (naturally you'd never dream of saying this out loud) "look at that minger with that babe"? Yeah? I do too and I think to myself I could be that minger. With this is mind I flirt with just about anyone that catches my eye.To be fair I'd say yes to pretty much anyone because you never know do you, and yes I have been blogging about this and not all the guys have been Brad Pitt's, but then I don't blog about all of my dates because there are normal, attractive guys out there and they are just looking for love like everyone else. HOWEVER there are some of the Irish male population that need a realitiy check. Take date 5, the date that never was, even though we didn't go out I wanted to include him as a classic example of what not to do when online dating! Take this conversation for example, I've included translations for you.

Tableforone:Hey there Hunkymeathmanzero, love your profile picture, just thought I'd drop you a mail.(Translation - from your picture you appear to be normal, I could be wrong, I've been wrong before)

Hunkymeathmanzero:how's she cuttin'? (Translation - I'm from the country, I have road frontage and I couldn't think of anything else to say)

Tableforone:Good, what's a guy like you doing in a place like this?(Translation - I want you to think that you're to good for this site and thus massage your ego)

Hunkymeathmanzero:Looking for you of course. I think there's chemistry between us. When I saw your picture I thought there's something wrong with my eyes, I can't take them off you. Anyway, hows about we address this issue once and for all and you come on a date with me? (Translation - Is this not the most original and possibily charming thing you've ever heard?)

Tableforone:

A date eh? And where would you take me on this date?

(Translation - I can't believe there's nothing on the telly tonight, I wonder do I have anything backed up on the sky plus, was there a programme on the other night about a woman that had her face ripped off by a chimp?)

Hunkymeathmanzero:

The evening will begin in the little bar under The International, over in the corner underneath the stuffed pheasant in the dusty glass case. There's something about taxidermy that really gets me going! We'll chat, have a few drinks, you know the usual kinda stuff. Afterwards I want to kiss you passionately on the lips. What do you say we do some math: Add a bed, subtract our clothes, divide your legs, and multiply. If I could rearrange the alphabet I'd put U and I together. So what do you say? When are you free? Thursday?(Translation - Women love this)

Tableforone:

No, sorry not free that night

(WARNING, WARNING, WARNING)

Hunkymeathmanzero:

Friday?(Translation - Ok she clearly has something very important on thursday)

Tableforone:

Nope(Translation - When hell freezes over)

Hunkymeathmanzero:

Saturday?(Translation - mmmh she's working late)

Tableforone:

Nope(Translation - I wish you understood the message I was giving you)

Hunkymeathmanzero:Are you playing hard to get?

(Translation - Oh I read about this, she's playing mind games)

Tableforone:

No, that's not it.

(Translation - Where is the block user button again?)

Cheeky things you might say in a pub come across as creepy by email. This kind of email results in being barred from most profiles and guarantees you die alone with a chimp ripping your face off. I'm just saying!

Source: datingforaverageguys.blogspot.comAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09816981287589272173noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7832788629786263666.post-66553001685502722652015-01-18T02:28:00.000-08:002015-02-03T04:39:46.658-08:00A Grain Of Salt

Production Assistants having actual fun on a movie set...

A comment left on one of The Anonymous Production Assistant's recent posts got me to thinking.

"... if you work long enough as a PA, you will hate life. please please please take this blog with a grain of salt."

Given that most blogs offer a highly subjective outlook based on each blogger's individual experiences, biases, and personality, it's good advice to take every blog with a grain of salt -- but the commenter (who calls him/herself "rather pathetic") seemed to have a more specific complaint: that what he/she perceived as a negative, snarky tone in the APA's posts does not accurately represent the reality of Industry life.

Like everything else in life, this business offers a roller-coaster ride of good and bad that varies from day to day, job to job, year to year. A good day on set with an experienced crew and a competent production team (and for decent money...) can be fun -- you work hard and share a few laughs while getting the job done, then wrap it all up and go home. If the hours are longer than in most types of work, that's just part of the deal.*

But a really bad day on set well and truly sucks. I hate working all night or in the rain (or both, compounding the misery), or for the Big Ego screamers who either don't know what they're doing or never learned to communicate in a civilized manner. Slaving for cheap-ass production companies unwilling to hire enough help or pony up for good equipment -- or worse, pay on a flat rate, all-the-shit-you-can-eat basis -- can be a physically and emotionally debilitating experience. Toiling all day in the blinding heat of the desert isn't much fun, nor is enduring the suffocating humidity and swarms of insects that accompany summertime locations almost everywhere east of New Mexico. It's no picnic to shoot in the freezing cold of ice and snow, either, or work long hours on a hot sweaty sound stage filled with the oil-based smoke many DP's use to add "atmosphere" to the visuals -- an exercise in sustained misery that remains my personal bete noir.

There are many harder jobs out there -- personally, I can't imagine working as a coal miner, sand-hog, or a roofer -- but on a bad day, this is a tough business.

There are only three positive things I can say about such a miserable day: it will end (eventually), you will get paid for your suffering (if not enough), and the experience will make a good story somewhere much further on down the line. And since the worst experiences usually make the best stories, it's natural that many Industry blogs lean towards a darker vision of life in the shadow of the big white Hollywood sign.

I can't speak for other Industry bloggers, but the goal here has always been to peel back the curtain on my end of the business -- set lighting -- and give anyone interested (fellow work-bots, young people just entering the biz, or curious civilians) some idea what it's like to live and work in Hollywood, along with a greater understanding (and hopefully, appreciation) for what it takes to get a location or sound stage set lit and ready for the actors. Given that mounting any sort of production is a complex endeavor requiring so many very different crafts to work together (often, it seems, at cross-purposes...), delays and frustration are inevitable.** On any shoot, as the hours mount and end seems nowhere in sight, we all tend to get a bit cranky, and some of that inevitably bleeds into the blogs.

A secondary rationale for this blog was to dispel the notion held by so many of my civilian friends and acquaintances that working in Hollywood is somehow a glamorous activity. To that end, many of my own posts have focused on the less savory aspects of a work day on set.

Still, "rather pathetic" might ask him/herself just what he/she really wants to read in an Industry blog. Imagine such a blog that was nothing but sweetness and light -- praising the intelligence, understanding, and compassion raining down from above-the-line, speaking of friendly, competent directors, producers and AD's, and relating warm-and-fuzzy stories about actors who learn their lines and hit their marks like true professionals. Should such a blog exist -- laden with anecdotes about shoots that glide smoothly through short, happy days, the crew basking in warm sunshine while enjoying delectable craft service, sumptuous catering, and big fat paychecks -- would it make for an interesting read? Do any of us work in a filmic paradise where the lion lies down with the lamb, love is in the air, and everything really is beautiful in its own way?

Maybe -- I suppose anything's possible -- but most of the time the answer to all of the above would be a resounding "no." Yes, some shoots are dream jobs -- and here I'm thinking of the lighting crew on one Oscar-winning movie a few years back that filmed in the rugged mountains of Montana. The first two weeks of production were spent shooting day exteriors on a river, which required no artificial lighting. While the gaffer played meter-maid by the camera (and the grips got a workout wrangling big silks and grifflons in and around the water), most of the juicers spent those two idyllic weeks upstream fishing for trout -- at full union scale.

Nice work, if you can get it.

Although that remains an the exception (especially nowadays), we all occasionally enjoy a brief moment of grace -- a little positive karmic payback for all those miserable times in the past. And truth be told, not even production assistants run an endless gauntlet of torrential abuse. Although my own experiences as a PA (blessedly brief) were no joyride, I managed to have a little fun along the way while learning a lot -- mostly how badly I wanted to move past working as a PA, but still...

Those three kids in the photo above were production assistants on a low budget feature filmed in Vermont during the late 80's. The two on the outside were locals, while the one in the middle was a fast-talking kid from New York - who, as that brand new tool belt indicates, we'd already drafted to help with our undermanned grip/electric crews. These kids worked for peanuts suffering right alongside the rest of us for eight long six-day weeks in the ice and snow, but they still managed to have a little fun.

Working as a production assistant is not a goal, but a means to an end - a springboard position from which to get a close-up look at the Industry before deciding which direction to proceed. The truth is, if you work long enough at anything -- grip, juicer, prop man, boom operator, wardrobe, set-dresser, makeup, or camera assistant - you'll probably end up hating life, but any of those jobs will pay you a lot more money while inflicting considerably less soul-crushing degradation than working as a PA.

So by all means, keep a salt shaker handy as you read this and every Industry blog. Understand that for each miserable hard-slogging day we describe, a good day comes along sooner or later -- sometimes several good days. But unless those turn out to be spectacularly wonderful days, you might not read about it in a blog, because a run-of-the-mill day on set doesn't always make a particularly compelling story.

* This is easy at first, when working on set is an all-new adventure full of interesting experiences, but one's view of long hours changes over time. That, however, is a subject for another post.

** Seriously -- craft service, wardrobe, sound, and set lighting could hardly be more different.

After this movie wrapped, the kid in the middle went out to LA and managed to get his IA card five years before I finally got mine. Go figure...

Source: aisha-vip.blogspot.comAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09816981287589272173noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7832788629786263666.post-68048926954414084102015-01-11T02:30:00.000-08:002015-03-09T05:07:11.874-07:00Financial Signs That Your Date Has Long Term Potential

TD Ameritrade and website Learnvest.com recently conducted a survey and found that most couples fight about money on average around five times per year. Other studies have shown that money is one of the most contentious issues for couples. It's always the biggest issue in survey after survey that couples have to contend with. When dating someone if you happen to get to know how they handle their money and other financial issues, their dealings in these matters can exhibit character qualities that they possess. Someone who pays all of their bills on time for instance is conscientious, detail-oriented and responsible, whereas if they are irresponsible with money, or a total spendthrift, these qualities may weigh heavily on your relationship, of course depending upon who you are and what your financial situation and spending habits are. Certainly trustworthiness, chemistry, shared values and love all should inhabit a relationship. These are good qualities to have, especially for a long term romantic relationship. So what other financial signs should you look out for in your date to see if they have long term potential?

Many experts agree that it's good for both of you to share in the financial decisions. It's important that a couple act as a team. If you aren't cohabitating yet, does the person you're dating ask your opinion on things or are they more independent? The TD Ameritrade and Learnvest study found that generally with married and cohabitating couples, one person pays the bills and writes the budget. Really both people should know how to do these things on their own, particularly with how high the divorce rate is. However, if your love interest asks your opinion and is very considerate, there is a high chance they will be easy to talk to and negotiate with when financial matters come up. Of course you shouldn't bring up personal subjects like money, savings, investments, retirement plan and so on, on the first date. Not if you want a second date. But as things start to get serious these are important issues.

How comfortable is this person talking about money? When someone is paranoid or testy about the subject, it can put a real damper on the relationship. But if your lover is comfortable discussing matters and opinions on all things financial, this person is a keeper. Is this person financially stable? What is there debt situation like? There are lots of people who are forgoing marriage due to their hesitancy in taking on their lover's debt. Everyone must decide what is right for them. But having a life partner who has their financial situation under control, and is able to discuss financial matters with you are good signs of a strong relationship with long term possibilities. We must note that for us Nationalism or Racialism (because for us Nation = Race) gives birth to Socialism and the opposite. This connection between Nationalism and Socialism is the only true ideology that goes against globalist Capitalism, because "national" Capitalism can't exist. The same applies for internationalist multicultural/multiracial Socialism, despite the unnatural visions of the Left. Thus, Social Nationalism is Racial Socialism.

Being aware of certain biological, historical and financial facts, we must, using honest dialectic, construct the meaning of Racial Socialism. I believe we all understand the importance of the economic and social system for the future of the Race. If we are not ideologically self-aware we will not be able to have decent economical reasoning. We can say that we are not the "middle ground" between Communism and Capitalism, we aren't even the "Third Way", we are the ONLY way for the survival and evolution of our Race. We aren't simple hybrids of the Left and the Right, we are a new species, a result of evolution!

1) RACE AND ECONOMY. First of all, lets clarify that even though Social Nationalism isn't a strictly financial theory, that doesn't make it any less capable of managing financial issues. Instead that makes it the ideal worldview, categorizing the economy as a result of human's biological activity. Also, the fact that on an international level we don't have an Adam Smith like the capitalists or a Marx like the communists is because we are not perverted enough to place financial laws above the natural and biological ones.

What we call economy today made its appearance throughout the ages and constantly changes form because it is an incomplete human creation, while the laws of mathematics and the sciences, as well as those that govern the philosophical schools of thought (logic with the broader meaning) exist outside human nature and intellect and define the human nature and intellect as much as the creativity of the humans (culture - economy).

Social Nationalism was the only ideology that attempted the obvious, to return the human being from this incomplete creation back to nature and to evolve him. We are the only ones that can create a anthropocentric and biocentric economy compatible with the nature of the humans and the ecosystems.

After placing the human being and the economy in their rightful places, lets see why Racialism gives birth to Socialism. Racialism is the worldview that sets the survival, the reproduction, the physical - ethical - spiritual evolution of the Race as its most valued goals. But what is the Race we love so much? It is the elementary sum of the biological choices through the process of evolution. I'll explain.

By biological choice we mean the process during which a group of members of one species is promoted through battle with different species, while the other group either has few descendants or disappears. Individuals die, so the biological choice defines only the genes that will survive and reproduce.

A great deal of evolutionary biologists believe that heroism and self-sacrifice of the People for their country, their Race, their loved ones, is possible due to the huge amount of mutual genes they share with them, so the sacrifice of an individual-carrier of those genes is a loss for the Race that is balanced by the benefit of the survival of more individuals-carriers. It's also a given fact that common tradition, language, customs are mostly a result of genetic factors that interacted with the environment in some degree. In other words, our mutual genes assisted each other for so many years and now place us emotionally and ethically with the side of our society.

2) WHY RACIALISM AND CAPITALISM ARE INCOMPATIBLE. Is this biological "socialism" of our Blood compatible with the Capitalist goals and structure of the economy? If not, then we have proven that Nationalism is equivalent to anticapitalism and synonymous to socialism. The answer is obvious.

Capitalism means glorification of profit, ignoring the needs of the community. How is maximum profit achieved in the quarterly accounting reports? With technological breakthroughs? Rarely, because technology is the result of the progress of human knowledge that has its own rhythm that doesn't match the speed of monthly profitability. This is why in capitalists countries (e.g. the U.S.A) research is mainly funded by the state. Profit is achieved with the hyperconsumption of the workers and reduction of their earnings (cost of labor) in every sector, with the exception of a minority of capitalists (real estate, banks, industry) that control the wealth.

Because hyperconsumerism is halted, at some point, due to low wages, loans were devised to temporarily fill the void until the citizen was unable to pay off and was reduced to a slave. The Jews use this tactic to both enslave Whites on an individual level and also to increase their profits on a national level (see the loans of EU towards Greece and the "newly discovered" oil and gold deposits that will be sold to them at a miserable price). Another way to achieve a low cost of labor is rampant and uncontrollable invasion of immigrants-slaves and the unstoppable production of workers with degrees in order to achieve the proletarianization of the scientists and after the denationalization of the workers and farmers through illegal immigration.

This reminds us the Greece of today, where a big percentage of Greeks are unemployed and the rest are working only to pay off their debts, barely surviving, living under the fear of unemployment and social isolation. The workers, the unemployed, and the future unemployed (e.g. students) want forget their poverty and misery, so the capitalist system gives them entertainment. An ocean of garbage invades the nations at a scary speed, mostly through the TV, but with other media as well, so that the slaves will forget their pain. After 10-12 hours of work almost no-one has the energy to read a book, do some research or to become self-aware about the complete and total domination of the Zionists in every sector or about the terrifying and unjust tactics of the immigrants. Slowly, our culture dies and is replaced by this junk. Our universities provide technical knowledge, which is training and not education, thus poses no danger for the system.

This is the Zionist recipe that was also applied to the USSR, and resulted to so many years of tyranny. Now, the situation is hardly any different, the truth is out there but our brothers and sisters have been programmed to avoid it, to fight it. But this is a different story and it will be analyzed some other time.

Lets see the damage Capitalism has caused on the Nationalist society.

* It threatens the survival of our Race because with poverty and unemployment we have dwindling birth rates in every racially European country, where parents wont have children if they know they won't be able to raise them properly, unlike the Africans and the Asians. Also a threat for the existence of vital space for the Race is immigration and race mixing caused and endorsed by the liberals.
* How can you talk about physical, spiritual and ethical evolution when all the public sport areas have been occupied by foreigners, when the teenager faces a threat for his life just by passing by? Public libraries are few and far between, education is non-existent and instead we get training, that's what the consumers need. No wonder our National identity is dying day by day. There is almost no time for self-education, the System requires his to use that time to work for an individual's or a corporation's gain. Finally the ethics of Capitalism is light years away from the Nationalist ethics, because the only thing "ethical" it promotes is treason, ass kissing, bribery, prostitution, and other "virtues"!
* An insidious and deceptive argument is that in every system, a small part of humans will fulfill certain requirements, bringing glory to his nation and the physical and spiritual values the nation endorses. This is true but in Capitalism the members of the Race don't have an equal opportunity. Wealth can be inherited in the Capitalist system! So the finest people the Nation has to offer are often condemned to remain with the enslaved masses, rarely breaking free. The rich destroy any attempt of those people to rise up. A fine example is George Soros, funding the enemies of Nationalism all over the world.

Those are few of the destructive consequences of capitalism in the racial community. Even the State itself is undermined by capitalism, because the most elementary tool in macroeconomics, the right and equipment to print money does not belong to the State, but it's given to bankers/loan sharks that give loans with criminal rates to the state and then blackmail it with their antisocial terms of surrender.

So, the racial community leads to the construction of a social race with a socialist spirit, where every employee, whether his is a worker of the body, or a worker of the soul, or a freelancer, or a merchant, or a businessman will take part in the sacrifices for the good of the community. There are only soldiers in the phalanx we call Nation and whomever doesn't want to serve it, won't belong in it. Humans come and go, the society remains and evolves through time.

3) WHY MULTIRACIAL MARXIST SOCIALISM IS AN IMPOSSIBILITY. Now lets ask the opposite question. Is there such thing as multiracial socialism? If not, then socialism is only racialist, so the anarchists and the communists are either lying or deluding themselves with Marxist mental traps.

Socialism, above all, demands the existence of a society, and not just a group of people. Science has proven that man has genes that together with the environment coordinate his attitude, and when we say environment we mean both cultural and natural. Humans are designed to create strong cultural links, to create social or sexual relationships with people that have great genetic similarity, with members of their Race. After all, our culture is a product of our genes, and not the opposite, because humans can create civilizations while cultural characteristics are not inherited. The reason nature does this is not completely known but humans choose to socialize with their own kin. It's clear, not only from a biological, but from a historical viewpoint as well, that a society demands the existence of a common heritage that guarantees cultural and spiritual bonds among the members of the community. THERE ARE NO MULTIRACIAL COMMUNITIES, ONLY MULTIRACIAL GROUPS OF INDIVIDUALS!

This is why once communism collapsed the former soviet states broke down to national states, the same will happen in the present multiracial Capitalist states. In some cases this happened peacefully, like Czechoslovakia, but in places where communist paranoia had mixed populations there was war, like Yugoslavia, despite the similarity between the European races! Imagine what will happen in a Capitalist Europe that is filled with Asians and Africans...

We have established that there are no multiracial societies, so therefore there can be no multiracial socialism. What does the pathetic Marxist propaganda that have a monopoly on socialism left with? Something that I call class individualism, similar to capitalist individualism. For example, we, the "workers of the world", want to make a better living through our soviet state that "serves us". We create a union, an alliance of people with mutual interests, like the lobbies of the capitalists. Once a worker assumes a position of responsibility and power in the mechanism of the state's capitalism, he stops belonging in his previous class, he has no blood bonds with the diverse group of people below him, and he becomes their master. That way we go to a new class of commissars-capitalists! The communist wants to be served by the community on the bases of mutual interest only when it suits him, that why he abandons his community every other time, while the Social Nationalist always serves the community with a smile, because the children of the community will be brothers and sisters with his own children. A BLOOD BOND IS THE ONLY GUARANTEE FOR SOCIALISM.

Closing, I would like to thank you for reading and promoting this extensive article. I tried to analyze the Social Nationalist Theory from the scientific point of view that is more relevant to my interests, and combined with the philosophical analysis from my beloved Golden Dawn comrades, hopefully we will manage to create a concrete base for a Social Nationalist ideology that will liberate Europe.

THE REASON I WROTE THIS ARTICLE IS ONE AND ONLY. I BELIEVE GOLDEN DAWN, ALL OF US, HAVE MORE RIGHT THAN ANYONE ELSE. THE PROOF OF THE CORRECTNESS OF OUR IDEAS IS OBVIOUS IN PRACTICE AND TO EVERY NOBLE MIND.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09816981287589272173noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7832788629786263666.post-27568227842724161072014-12-18T06:05:00.000-08:002015-01-05T22:31:59.854-08:00Dating Advice For Men How To Help Her Get Over Her Fears

No matter what experience you may think you have in relationships, there is a whole lot more you can learn. As a man who would like to get a woman to trust him, there are several things that you need to take care of before you launch out. It is not enough to simply profess your love because there are too many men already do this but never mean a word in all that they say. Even young ladies are smart these days and they are not easy to pick like any man may think. Besides as a man, you would most probably be interested in a particular lady because of certain qualities you believe she has. There are other men who see the same qualities in her and sure as anything, they are also interested in her. Certainly not all these men are genuine but setting yourself apart from the rest is something you have to learn how to do. She would probably be able to see beyond the con art of some of these men but you would need dating advice for men like you who come across such women who may not give in easily when being wooed. Women have come to realize the big difference between men who are interested in a long lasting and rewarding relationship and those who have ulterior motives. They have even learnt of some tricks they can use in separating the 'chaff from the wheat'. Ladies are not being unreasonable and their fears are not unfounded. If you are a man who is interested in dating a woman, you may first have to break down an encapsulating wall of fear which the lady has erected. Doing this may not be out right simple and without dating advice for men from prior experience, this may be near impossible. Women have their different concerns and this is a natural phenomenon. Starting a relationship especially for women is not an easy thing. Just as there may be so much to gain, there is a lot that can be lost as well. Some of the concerns women nurse as spoken and others are not. Nursing fears and concerns can be a helpful habit because they help ladies to be on their guard. Being uncomfortable with a man can be all that she needs to make her realize she has no business staying with the man and to be wary of him. Just as fear can be a tool that can be used for protective means, it can also sabotage any woman's dating life. There are different reasons women nurse fear and if you already noticed that a lady you are dating is showing the signs of fear, you have to first identify her source of fear and then try to allay it. Truth be told, you need dating advice for men if you have never been confronted with this kind of situation before as it is not likely you will make much success if you go for it all alone. The more you are able to learn of the reasons women nurse fears when they are confronted with the prospects of a relationship, the more you are likely to be able to get things under control should luck bring such a woman your way. o Previous ExperiencePeople learn a lot from their past experience and this reflects in the way they attend to situations when they arise. A woman that has been maltreated by a man or has been taken for a good ride and dumped would have learnt from the past to be wary of men. Such women are tough nuts to crack and unless you make good use of dating advice for men, you may find out that she really will not bulge no matter what you try to offer her. One thing you should bear in your mind is that this is a woman who has suffered some damage and hurt from a scathing relationship and what she needs is some succor even though she does not know who to trust yet. Like a burnt child dreads fire, she would be reluctant to be drawn into another relationship until she becomes sure of what she is doing. If you observe this is her fear and she is willing to discuss it then be attentive to her. Offer words of comfort stressing how much you understood what she has had to withstand in the relationship. If you found an area where you think she handled poorly you can point this one out but also emphasize on her strength and her virtues that helped her to survive the ordeal. She will definitely appreciate your words and before long she will begin to open up some more to you. o Lack of Commitment from PartnerIf you have been enjoying the company of your date who you have probably been seeing for some time now, you may be interested in something more definite. If you broach this topic, you are likely to see her pause in her tracks and her smile may even varnish. You may begin to wonder what has suddenly taken over her. It is nothing but fear of the unknown. There are different diversifications of this fear and one area is fear for lack of commitment from you as a partner. Most men are known to be fair-footed when it comes to going out with their dates and asking them for a night out but when it comes to real commitment in their relationships; they begin to drag their feet. No lady wants a man who will not want to stay committed to their relationship so you need to show just how committed you by discussing what plans you have for both of you and how you intend to actualize these plans. One of the things that women consider very important for them is security. This is a very broad topic because security could be in terms of money, comfort, protection and so on. A good dating advice for men would never encourage you to promise what you cannot fulfill but what you have can be presented in such a way that your date will find it too irresistible to pass up and with this you can easily break down the fear barrier.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09816981287589272173noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7832788629786263666.post-16005995084637058102014-12-18T03:05:00.000-08:002015-02-18T04:32:27.235-08:00Beautiful Kiss Quotes For Valentines Day

A kiss can beautify souls, hearts, and thoughts.Unknown.

A kiss is the jumper cable of the heart.Unknown.

A kiss, when all is said, what is it?

A rosy dot placed on the 'i' in loving;

'Tis a secret told to the mouth

instead of to the ear.Edmond Resonated.

A man had given all other bliss,

And all his worldly worth for this,

To waste his whole heart in one kiss

Upon her perfect lips.Lord Tennyson.

Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl

is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.Unknown.

A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature

to stop speech when words become superfluous.Ingrid Bergman.

A kiss: A peculiar proposition.

Of no use to one, yet absolute bliss to two.

The small boy gets it for nothing,

the young man has to lie for it,

and the old man has to buy it.

The baby's right,

the lover's privilege,

and the hypocrite's mask.

To a young girl, faith;

to a married woman, hope;

and to an old maid, charity.V. The good news is, with the right approach, these problems usually aren't too hard to solve.

Bridge the gender divide!

Men and women approach relationships in distinctly different ways. Without and open mind, it's all too easy to write the opposite gender off as "illogical" or even start thinking of their differences as childish or petty. The fact is neither gender is perfectly logical. Taking some time to learn about exactly how the opposite gender looks at love matters can help you avoid a lot of problems in relationships.

Listen thoughtfully!

Don't forget that you're one half of the communication problem. When you've been together for a while, you might start to think you know what your partner is going to say. Unless you have ESP, though, you'll get a lot farther by actually hearing your partner out. When sweetie tells you something, restate what they said to make sure you understood correctly and let them know you heard.

Release the need for blame!

When one of you has a problem, the relationship has a problem and it's in both your best interests to work it out peacefully.

Instead of going around in circles trying to decide whose fault it is, focus on how you're going to solve it. Likewise, try to avoid blaming your partner for your overall mood. Specific issues like "When you flirt with other people, I feel rejected." are fine, but sweeping statements like "You make me miserable." or "You stress me out." are taking it too far.

Stick to the facts!

When trying to talk over problems in relationships, don't bring up any thing you can't prove. Instead, stay with what can't be argued like your own feelings and what your partner already agrees they do. For example, saying "You disrespected me in front of my friends." can be argued because standards of respect differ. On the other hand, saying "I was embarrassed when you told Dave you don't think I should ask for a raise." is not only unarguable, but also gets your point across more clearly.

Be frank, but kind!

You're not doing anyone any favors by taking a "put up and shut up" attitude to problems in relationships. All you end up doing is allowing wounds to fester and they can eventually reach the point where they'll never heal at all. Instead, speak your mind when you have a problem, but do so with gentleness, kindness, and respect. Remember, your partner probably isn't trying to hurt or annoy you and may be pretty upset to hear you're unhappy.

Be a friend, not a coach!

Chances are, your partner isn't with you because they're hoping you can correct all their bad habits and personality flaws. You're not their parent, teacher, coach, or boss. You're their friend and lover.

You may think you're giving constructive criticism, but your partner might think your love or respect for them has diminished because of this one little flaw they have. Instead of criticizing, encourage improvement by giving your partner some positive feedback when they do something you really like.

There, that doesn't sound too hard, does it? These techniques may be simple, but the really do work to solve communication problems in relationships. Give them a try.

Feel free to browse all of our Ex Back System

Related Articles By Zemanta

* Relationships : Three Golden Rules for a Happy Relationship (socyberty.com)
* Relationship Secrets You Should Share (aolhealth.com)
* 8 Mistakes Men Make with Women (lifescript.com)
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09816981287589272173noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7832788629786263666.post-3851266888456141242014-11-30T03:49:00.000-08:002015-01-05T22:32:28.587-08:00How To Find Your Meaning And Purpose In Life

"All of us have something that gives us a sense of identity", "meaning", or "purpose". Take that thing away, and we are bound to experience all sorts of psychological disturbances the most brutal, perhaps, is an existential crisis. In other words, you have a certain need; something that you must attach or connect yourself to so that you don't lose your grip on reality. So how can we exactly determine what it is that we need?Your need is different from other people's needs because we all operate in varying degrees of self-awareness. Some people focus on higher attainments while others find their fulfillment in simple ones. Those who question the nature of reality, for example, are trying to fulfill their spiritual needs, while those who are looking for the right partner - who will give "meaning" to their existence - may be trying to fulfill their sexual or emotional needs. Different strokes for different folks."Man is born as a freak of nature, being within nature and yet transcending it. He has to find principles of action and decision-making which replace the principles of instincts. He has to have a frame of orientation which permits him to organize a consistent picture of the world as a condition for consistent actions. He has to fight not only against the dangers of dying, starving, and being hurt, but also against another danger which is specifically human: that of becoming insane. In other words, he has to protect himself not only against the danger of losing his life but also against the danger of losing his mind."Eric Fromm, The Revolution of Hope: Toward a Humanized Technology (1968), p. 61Take a look at the seven needs below (starting from the lowest to the highest) to determine what you are trying to fulfill or the kind connection you have lost if you are suffering from an existential crisis. Take note that some of these needs may overlap each other as in the case of a person who is trying to gain authority and group acceptance (social need) in order to fulfill his/her intellectual pursuits (intellectual need). In another sense, the needs may take each other's form as in the case of a person who is consciously trying to make a name in the music industry (creative need) with the unconscious desire for popularity (social need). It's up to you to determine which type of need corresponds to your present state of mind. 1. SURVIVAL - the need for safety, financial security, material resources, health, etc. are examples of survival needs. Whatever pertains to human biological survival generally belongs to this category. For example, some people find fulfillment in providing for themselves and their families. Suffering a financial hardship is not an option for them. As long as they can find pleasure in something and avoid suffering (pain), life remains meaningful and purposeful. 2. SEXUAL - the need for sexual pleasure, reproduction, nurture of the young, etc. are some examples of sexual needs. Whatever pertains to human sexuality generally belongs to this category. For example, some men find their sense of identity and purpose by pursuing as many women as they can while some women find fulfillment in bearing children. They don't really care too much about politics, proving the existence of God and aliens, getting rich, and whatnot. 3. SOCIAL - the need for status, authority, power, group acceptance, self-esteem, achievement, etc. are some examples of social needs. Whatever pertains to your position in society generally belongs to this category. Some people, for example, would do anything to achieve fame or social recognition while others just do their best to be part of the group in which they belong. Those who fall under this category get their sense of "identity", "meaning", and "purpose" mainly from the society. 4. EMOTIONAL - the need for love, relatedness, friendship, intimacy, etc. are some examples of emotional needs. Whatever pertains to interpersonal relationship generally belongs to this category. Emotional needs may arise when you want to overcome the feeling of separateness without sacrificing your sense of individuality. In other words, you need to be with someone other than yourself. Those who fall under this category get their sense of "identity", "meaning", and "purpose" from their emotional attachment with other people. People who do not succeed in fulfilling this need tend to become narcissists. 5. CREATIVE - the need to express artistic talent, musical skills, business expertise, dance, athletics, architecture, etc. are some examples of creative needs. Basically, anything that compels you to express yourself creatively belongs to this category. Some people, for example, have a sense of purpose as long as they can sing in front of an audience or if they can, perhaps, make their living out of that which they love doing the most. 6. INTELLECTUAL - the need for problem solving, analysis, research, exploration, investigation, etc. are some examples of intellectual needs. Anything that compels you to use your rational brain to its fullest capacity belongs to this category. Some people, for example, get their sense of "meaning" as long as they can rationalize something. They become scientists, philosophers, psychologists, mathematicians, engineers, and so on. Those who have reached their limit in using the rational brain may either move to the next level (spiritual) or become raging lunatics. 7. SPIRITUAL - the need to contemplate or question things beyond the reach of rational explanation. Anything that compels you to explore the mystical, spiritual, divine, metaphysical, transcendent, or whatever you want to call it falls under this category. For example, there are those who want to know if there is a soul that survives after they die, if there's really a "meaning" to existence, if there is life somewhere else in the universe, if there are other realms of existence, if the Flying Spaghetti Monster really exists, and so on. Those who have reached the end of their spiritual journey may either become enlightened beings or hopeless psychopaths. Keep in mind that all these needs are present within each and every one of us. You should not focus solely on just one need and neglect all the rest, but it also doesn't mean that you should exert an equal amount of energy in taking care of all these needs all the time. Just remember that before you take a step to reach something that's high, you should have a stable foundation so you don't fall down. Manage your lower needs first as best you can so they won't give you any trouble in the future. If you take the time to reflect on these needs, you will discover that there is only one that really resonates with you. Don't think it; feel it. Your heart, not your brain, is the one that is keeping you alive, so it should know what it is you are looking for. When you are searching for a purpose you are quite ineffectual, but when you find the right one you respond with increased energy. Finding a purpose in life is a sign that you have reached some level of completion. But if you don't find what you're looking for, don't worry. It will find you. Peace and respect! They women who don't hide this successfully fit into the stereotype of the High Maintenance Woman. And MSN is here to help men avoid those women who might have demands and stuff. Now, the four signs that a woman is high maintenance:

"HIGH H.B.A. FACTOR. Rookie observers, remember the H.B.A. acronym (which stands for "Health, Beauty & Accessories"). "

"

It's best to date homely women with health problems who don't wear jewelry, I guess. No, just kidding! Again, beauty and health are critical, but it's all shot to shit if she doesn't make it seem effortless.

"As in, obsessed with H.B.A. Scan the latest trendy store, restaurant or bar and you'll spot high-maintenance women easily in their natural habitat. Ground zero for the high-maintenance species are beauty salons, malls and occasionally, the health club. (Yes, female gym rats can be high maintenance, although scientists say it's a rare occurrence.)"

"

This seems like advice for "finding" these high maintenance women. Do men generally cruise the beauty salons and trendy stores in the mall looking for dates? And what is this mall crap anyway? Any super-materialistic worth his or her salt would stick to the boutiques, I would think.

"Is she dressed to the nines at the grocery store? Is she sporting full-tilt makeup and big hair at the health club when other women are in sweats and no makeup? Look closer and you'll find what constitutes high-maintenance is as varied as her patchwork quilt or designer bag, her intricately painted toenails or her voracious appetite for beauty treatments. "

"

That is, despite the fact that we told you we'd explain what to look for, we're actually going to leave it up to you, the reader, to figure out what the hell to look for. Suffice it to say, you need to inspect her every move to make sure that she never does anything that distracts from her main job, which is being there for her man. Sure, those manicured hands may look nice, but do you know how hard it is to get any cleaning done with fake fingernails?

"EMOTIONAL INSECURITY. High maintenance women can be as insecure as a lost toddler. They can freak out if you even so much as give an extended glance at another woman, among other indicators of emotional neediness. Her neediness often requires her to control and direct your behavior."

Don't forget that any woman can immediately turn into a stalker at any point in time. Sure, the crime statistics may indicate that controlling, jealous men are more common than controlling, jealous women, but Hollywood says otherwise. And we all know Hollywood never lies.

"CONTROLLING. Is she always instructing you to call her or sets rules around things? (Example: "Call me at work tomorrow at 2 p.m.") Worse yet, she might express anger or manipulate you to get you to do what she wants. A range of ploys such as her demands to call frequently, fix-it items, and transportation needs ("Can you pick me up?") are all ways to keep you on a short leash or otherwise attempt to control your behavior. "

"

If she needs a ride somewhere and it's cutting into your sitting around time, she is trying to castrate you. Better put a kibosh on that.

"COMMUNICATIONS. Guys, if she talks like this, run: "Like, oh my God, I was on the way to the mall and..." (At your own risk, remind her that "Valleyspeak" went out in the 1990s with Frank Zappa.)"

"

Don't date women who say, "like" or "ohmigod!" ever. This means avoiding all women under 45, since they all say these things once in awhile. That men do as well is irrelevant.

"

"Pay attention to what she talks about for it's the critical indicator of what might - or might not be - going on in her brain."

Hmmm....all of a sudden MSN thinks inquiring what a woman is thinking is a good thing. What's going on here?

"Is it all about her, shopping and her friends? Chances are you have a high-maintenance girl on your hands. I say "girl" because rarely are mature women really that high maintenance. If they are, they may be limited to the divorc'ee set, who brandish fake dark tans, fake body parts, overprocessed hair and enough bling-bling to make you squint. "

"

A mature woman doesn't think about friends, shopping or themselves. She knows that these things are distractions from thinking about how to make her many happy. And that's why she can keep a man, unlike those divorc'ees.

If you follow MSN's dating advice, then then horrible things won't happen to you.

"LOOK IN THE MIRROR. Make absolutely certain that you're not the one crying foul. Could you be high maintenance yourself? Consider the case of Michelle, now 42, who a decade ago broke up with a serious boyfriend, Jeremy. They had dated a year and a half and Michelle graciously declined his proposal for marriage and broke it off. "He accused me of being a materialistic you-know-what. Guess he was pretty raw, even after I told him not to buy an engagement ring." Michelle was never high maintenance. She drives an older car that's paid off, makes her own coffee every morning and has owned the same home for many years. "

"

Wait a minute. I don't get this example. It seems to be a warning about men being high maintenance themselves, but there's no indication here that he is anything but a whiner and an asshole. And not very good at insults. The lesson here seems to be, when calling a woman a materialistic bitch, try to avoid doing so after she's done something gallant and anti-materialistic.

"THE PICNIC TEST. If you have doubts about her high-maintenance level, put it to the test. See how she handles an impromptu picnic. Suggest casual food from the deli, a cookout, or wine, bread and cheese. Then, gauge her reactions carefully. "

"

As usual, the best way to form a good relationship is to play games. Ask a woman if she wants a turkey sub or wine and cheese. Base your entire judgement of her character on what she feels like eating at the moment. What are men supposed to do when dating a woman who sometimes feels like wine and cheese in the park and sometimes enjoys a good cookout? Well, such women, like John Kerry, are clearly flip-floppers and should be dumped immediately. Believing that variety is the spice of life is the sort of thing that foreigners do. Be especially careful if she likes wines with French-sounding names like chardonnay or merlot.

Origin: aisha-vip.blogspot.comAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09816981287589272173noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7832788629786263666.post-90598570930786017412014-11-16T02:10:00.000-08:002015-03-09T05:06:14.193-07:00Marcey Hamms Inward Harmony In Depth

In Marcey's own words find out all about the first Healing CD that Marcey created.

Healing Music From A Near-Death-Experience

What you are about to read is a true story.

PURCHASE INWARD HARMONY NOW!

Add to cart

There are many healing testimonials from listening to my music. Some people have even called this music "Miracle Music" because of the phenomena that has occurred in people's lives. Here is my story:

I was on my way to work as any ordinary work day. Traffic came to a halt because of all the people rushing to get to their destinations and all the lanes were jammed. I happen to look in my rear view mirror when I saw a truck speedily approaching my car. Obviously the driver wasn't paying attention to the stopped traffic. I braced myself for the collision since I didn't have time to move my car nor did I have my seat belt on.

All of a sudden I am hovering over my body which had hit the windshield and blood was all over the car. I knew my body was dead in that moment.

Then I was engulfed in this silver white cloud similar to a real dense London fog. This man's voice said to me, "You can either come with us now, or you can go back." I thought about my recording studio that I had just finished three days before this accident. Ten years of my life went into that studio to complete and I wasn't ready to leave yet. This emotion immediately brought me back into my body.

The bodily pain was beyond describing in words. I refused any surgery only because of my own paranoia when it comes to scalpels. I first wanted to exhaust all other avenues for relief before going to the more desperate measures.

This process took a little over a year and lead me to alternative medicine. Western medicine was not working for me with my particular situation. Once I was healed, I went into my studio for the first time, sat down and turned on all the equipment. All of a sudden, I felt so tired I couldn't even keep my eyes open. It was so strange. I fortunately had a high back chair and leaned back to take a nap. Next I was engulfed in all this music and color. It was so three-dimensional. Not even my most lucid dreams came close to the realism of this experience. This experience seemed like three minutes long, but when I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was my clock which read eight hours later. I couldn't believe it. Then I looked over to my control panel and all these lights were flashing which indicated that something had been recorded. I thought what is going on here? I put the equipment in play mode and this music came playing over my sound system. It was the same music that I had just experienced in my three-dimensional dream state. I sat there for hours and just cried.

During this time, I had joined a meditation class. I made a copy of this music and took it to the next class. Everything went very well for the meditation and as I was leaving to go home, a friend stopped me. She told me that I needed to get this music out into the world. I thought she had lost her mind and I told her that I wanted to just go home. She proceeded to tell me that I was being selfish for not sharing this music with the world. I really thought my good friend had gone off the deep end. I didn't want anything to do with what she was saying. As I turned to leave, my friend said that she wasn't going to let this go. I told her to do whatever she had to do, but I was going home.

I had been suffering with an ulcer for over a year and a half. Taking medication was the only relief. After the second night of listening to Inward Harmony I felt no discomfort from my ulcer. After three week, I stopped my medication.T.D.

Carrollton, TXI had no idea what my friend had intended. I really thought this was a passing moment that would go to oblivion. I was wrong. Everyday my phone rang. Weeks went by, my phone still ringing everyday. Finally, after two months, I was worn out. I broke down and had some tapes made; thinking this would end my friend's crusade. Think again, Marcey.

My friend already had it planned for me to get out among the Dallas people through these fairs that were held at these local hotels. I purchased a booth and there I was feeling so stupid sitting in a large ballroom with a little tape player hooked up with a headset. I had a chair so people could come and sit down, put the headset on and quietly listen to the music without hearing all the room noise.

This man, my first customer, soon came to my table. He didn't sit down. He put the headset on his head and listened to what I named, "Inward Harmony". A few seconds had passed and he turned white as a sheet as if all his blood left his body. I truly thought this music was killing him. I freaked! This is what I get for listening to my friend and now I'll be in jail for killing this man with my music. Just as I was getting ready to scream for help, he opened his eyes, took off the headset and walked away from the table. I fell back into my chair relieved, but what just happened?

About thirty minutes had passed and this man returned to my table. He looked straight into my eyes and said to me, "Young lady, seven years ago I was undergoing open heart surgery. During that operation, I was pronounced clinically dead for sixteen minutes. This music is the same music I heard while I was dead. Do you have a piece of paper and a pen?" I was shaking so hard and speechless that I don't even know how I managed to get the paper and pen for this man. He wrote all this down on the paper and handed it back to me and said, "Here, this will be in your first chapter of a book that you will write some day." He turned around and walked away. I looked around the ballroom and you could have heard a pin drop. Everyone was looking at my table. I wanted to crawl under the table and never come out again for the rest of my life. My mind was beyond shock.

I knew in that moment that my life was not my life anymore as I knew it. Something was going on here that was beyond what I could ever imagine. I also knew in that moment, that I had better just surrender to whatever this was because I was not in control of my life's journey as I had thought before this day.

I listened to Inward Harmony while in labor for 25 hours. I had no anxiety, no pain medication and was relaxed throughout the childbirth process.S.P.

Austin, TX

My album, Inward Harmony reached the Netherlands within thirty days from that day at the hotel just by word of mouth. Millions of people now have that album just by word of mouth. Healings? One woman was burned with second and third degree burns from a house fire. She bought my Inward Harmony on a Sunday and by that following Friday, she was completely healed without one blemish. Her doctor can't explain it. One man became deaf. His wife bought Inward Harmony in hopes it would help her husband. She played the music each night while they slept even though her husband couldn't hear the music. Within fourteen months, her husband regained all his hearing. He would have been deaf for the rest of his life. One woman always miscarried and was never able to carry a baby to term. She bought Inward Harmony at last resort. She became pregnant and played the music during her term. As long as she played the music, she wouldn't spot blood. When she quit playing the music, she immediately would staIrt spotting blood. She then constantly played Inward Harmony throughout the rest of the term and delivered her first baby and it was a healthy baby.

The testimonials are endless. The music works with all forms of life whether human, animal or plants. I have even seen Inward Harmony deter a tornado coming toward my car on the highway while I was on a trip. I tell people that there is no way that I can tell them what this music will do for them. Everyone has their own unique experience with this music. Just play the music in the background and go on about your business. It's that simple.

Anyone can reach me by e-mail. Even better was when Alonso came out himself, clutching his chest, to try and pressure Camila and she again remained strong, eventually adding that she wants a divorce. It is hard to remember the last time the guilt-trip from a convalescent didn't succeed in a telenovela, so needless to say, Camila's resolve was a welcome surprise. Another nice scene for Camila came as she was expressing uncertainty about her future to Viviana regarding her possible divorce and the fact that the ranch, La Malquerida, really didn't belong to her but to her missing cousin. Viviana tried to reassure Camila that her cousin would probably still allow her a place at the ranch to which Camila firmly stated, "No, I can only depend on myself," a resolve of self-reliance often missing from these stories.

Viviana also more fully came into her own this week, first when she learned Daniel's (Cristi'an de la Fuente) true identity and made clear her loyalties lie with her friend Camila and she would blow Daniel's cover if he didn't himself. A plot turn delayed that revelation, as Dionisio (C'esar 'Evora) interrupted with a phony death certificate of Daniel to hasten Camila gaining full ownership of the ranch. In the conversation that followed, Viviana asked just enough questions to poke holes in Dionisio's plot to steer Camila in the right direction, but without pushing her luck, realizing the potential danger.

The town's priest, Father Lozano (Jos'e Carlos Ruiz), wasn't so smart. He rashly confronted the villains about their fraudulent death certificate, revealing he knew Daniel was alive. Isadora quickly brought the stalking ruffian foreman of the ranch, Leoncio (Jose El'ias Moreno), into their fold, offering him three million pesos to kill the priest. Leoncio rammed the priest's truck off the road into a tree and left him for dead. Daniel and Camila came across the wreck and Daniel managed to encourage Camila into overcoming her fear of driving so she could go to the ranch to call an ambulance. When she returned with her medical bag, Camila and Daniel shared a few meaningful, romantic glances while attending to the injured priest, wonderfully inappropriate in context, but the kind of misplaced emphasis in a scene that's part of the fun of these shows. They got the priest to the hospital, but I don't imagine he's long for this show.

Another plot device, a letter the priest was holding meant for Daniel from the previous owner of La Malquerida, Camila's uncle, who left the ranch to Daniel, delayed from reaching Daniel for several episodes through frustrating and silly plot turns, mercifully, finally got in Daniel's hands. Even more thankfully, he actually read the darn thing, which revealed Camila's innocence and will hopefully serve to transition the Daniel character out of the thankless role of suspecting the innocent Camila and into the much more fulfilling role of protector.

UN REFUGIO PARA EL AMORThis week on UN REFUGIO PARA EL AMOR (weeknights at 7 p.m. ET on Univision), Luciana (Zuria Vega) came face-to-face with her bogeywoman and the cause of most of the misery in her life, Roselena (Laura Flores), for the first time since Roselena's crimes came to light. In a typical show of hypocrisy, Roselena acted penitent, asking Luciana for forgiveness, but Luciana was having none of it, saying "God can forgive you, because I don't."

Later, Roselena discovered text messages sent to her husband, Maximino (Roberto Bland'on), from his mistress. When she confronts him, he made no effort to hide it. During their argument, we learn the last time Maximino and Roselena were intimate was in conceiving their teenage daughter. In another scene, Roselena says she gave Maximino three kids, anything else would just be lust.

Maximino is another interesting character in this novela, ostensibly a villain, but given some redeeming qualities to keep him complex. On the one hand, he is a Machiavellian businessman, tough and demanding in the boardroom, dismissive of the opinions of others, even those of his sons, and an outright crook who arranged the fraud that sent his innocent partner to jail for twenty years. He is abusive and cruel to his mistress Vicky (Sachi Tamashiro), whom he constantly demeans. On the other hand, he clearly, truly loves his family. He allows his children the freedom to make their own decisions, even if he disapproves, granting them independence. His frustrations with his wife Roselena are shown to be fairly well justified, his attempts at kindness and tenderness met with her frigidity, and yet, despite her madness, he still seems to love her. Most interesting of all, Maximino had no objection to Luciana, always treating her with kindness and respect, at one point, he even graciously sat her at the head of the family dinner table.

CORAZ'ON VALIENTEThe last few weeks, CORAZ'ON VALIENTE (weeknights at 9 p.m. ET on Telemundo) has veered off the rails for me, deteriorating from entertaining, guilty pleasure into just plain trash. What has worked on the novela from the beginning - the Willy (Fabi'an R'ios) and Samantha (Ximena Duque) pairing - still works. Their storylines are a bit repetitive at this point, but they are just fun to watch together because the actors have such a nice comedic rapport, a mutual joshing and playfulness that gives a lift to their scenes.

What has never worked on the novela from the beginning - the Juan Marcos (Jos'e Luis Res'endez) and 'Angela (Adriana Fonseca) pairing - still doesn't work. Separated now, they have each been given possible new love interests and if the novela would give those new pairings an honest go, I would actually welcome the change; but novelas are more often wedded to the initial pre-sold pairings, i.e. the ones we see blessed by the opening credits, so I still envision Juan Marcos and 'Angela ending up together, meaning the new love interests will just be treated as complications rather than legitimate alternatives.

What once worked and has been wrecked over the past few weeks is the Miguel (Gabriel Porras) character, who left his brain and dignity in Colombia when he went to retrieve Fabiola (Brenda Asnicar), Juan Marcos's switched-at-birth sister who Miguel predictably, immediately falls in love with. Tonally, his scenes of late have been a schizophrenic mess: one moment, in a rather disgusting scene, Miguel callously massacres a roomful of thugs he's holding at gunpoint (I know, I know, like the Mickey Spillane parody dialogue in Vincente Minelli's THE BAND WAGON, "Killers have to die!"), the next, he's engaging in puerile, wacky hijinks with Fabiola or his male cohorts. Worse than the helter-skelter tone is when a scene is entirely tone-deaf, as when Miguel is bullying and threatening his college-aged rival whose sole crime, as far as Miguel knows, is he also has a romantic interest in Fabiola. The dialogue remains amazingly tin-eared, as when Miguel, searching for a missing Fabiola, lustfully drops that she is "21 but looks 15." The grizzled Porras and the dewy Asnicar can't help but give the pairing an unfortunate pervert uncle and his jailbait quality. Porras is a good actor, but he's been dreadful of late - overselling everything like a maniac, overcompensating for the garbage he's been given in the scripts. Asnicar makes matters worse by playing her scenes even younger than her looks.

EL ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZASeven weeks into its run, EL ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZA (weeknights at 10:30 p.m. ET on Telemundo) remains a dull, tedious, humorless affair populated by unlikable, and more damningly, uninteresting characters. Some of Telemundo's recent misses were at least bad enough to be entertaining; EL ROSTRO isn't even that - the whole novela is flat and lifeless. As awful as I think CORAZ'ON VALIENTE often is, it at least still has energy; EL ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZA is a dead fish.

Telemundo's decision to air the show in half-hour installments certainly hasn't helped matters. EL ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZA is a mystery novela meaning there is a ton of exposition that needs to be laid out - what crime supposedly transpired, the alternate scenarios of what possibly really happened, introducing witnesses and alternate suspects - and exposition tends to be very boring, the half-hour episodes mean it is taking twice as many nights as it normally would to dole out this exposition. But full episodes would do nothing to solve the heart of the problem for me which is that the intrigue just isn't very intriguing.

RELATED:

- TELENOVELA WATCH: AMOR BRAV'IO PREMIERES; PLUS, CORAZ'ON VALIENTE, UN REFUGIO PARA EL AMOR (AUGUST 18, 2012)

- TELENOVELA WATCH: AMOR BRAV'IO AND UN REFUGIO PARA EL AMOR UPDATES; PLUS, PREMIOS TU MUNDO (AUGUST 25, 2012)

- TELENOVELA WATCH: DRAMATIC IRONY ON AMOR BRAV'IO PLUS, CORAZ'ON VALIENTE (SEPTEMBER 1, 2012)

- TELENOVELA WATCH: THOUGHTS ON AMOR BRAVIO, UN REFUGIO PARA EL AMOR AND POR ELLA SOY EVA (SEPTEMBER 8, 2012)

"R.G. Money differences that is. It's not that women are worse than men with money. Just different. That's why we wrote Sheconomics in a female-friendly way. We "know" that women have different money emotions to men. That many women find money boring. Scary even. We try to cut through all this in Sheconomics. We even suggest that the high that comes from a good money workout is on a par with chocolate. Well nearly.

It's not about who's best, just about accepting differences.

I thought I'd repeat the 8 most common mistakes that women make with money. These are the ones that come up time and again in our Sheconomics research. Here are the mistakes and some advice about how to get over them - so you can feel smug about your money.

1. A MISPLACED SENSE OF LOYALTY. Whether it's a mortgage, bank account or mobile phone contract, women are often reluctant to switch. WE SAY: Be loyal to your friends but as promiscuous as you like with financial providers. If they don't give good service, or good rates, it's OK to move on. You don't have to please them or be a loyal customer.

2. FEAR OF FINANCIAL PRODUCTS.

Liking tangible investments, such as property, over stocks and shares can mean women miss out on money-making opportunities.

WE SAY: It's not rocket science. Don't put up with people who over-complicate products and hide behind jargon. Insist on plain-speaking and straightforward explanations.

3.BEING MONEY MARTYRS. Putting the needs of others first. Helping out the young ones when we should be providing for our own financial future.

WE SAY: OK, look after the children. But it doesn't help anyone in the long run when women sacrifice their own needs for others. Develop a selfish streak.

4. LOW SELF-BELIEF. Not asking for money - pay rises/fee increases/better deals - often means women don't get what they're entitled to.

WE SAY: Don't wait for someone to notice how hard-working you are. Tell them. Then ask them to pay you what you're worth.

"Shoes? I popped out for a pint of milk."

5. LETTING SHOPPING BECOME AN EMOTIONAL HABIT. OK, this is where women can out-do the men with a need for regular retail fixes.

WE SAY: Shop because you need the goods, not because you need the buzz. Find other non-materialistic ways of getting your kicks. Do something different.

6. NOT MANAGING CAREER BREAK FINANCE. Women lose out because taking time out to have kids often means they make fewer NI or pension contributions.

WE SAY: A career-break needn't mean a pension break. If your partner's salary can cover two pensions, it'll ease the strain in later life. Having a family is a joint responsibility.

"Where did you say you've hidden the savings again darling?"

7. ALLOWING OTHERS TO MAKE THE BIG FINANCIAL DECISIONS. Women are great at day-to-day budgeting but can sometimes suffer from decision paralysis when it comes to bigger financial decisions.

WE SAY: Get involved in the decision-making and share the financial management. Why give someone else control over something as important as your finances?

8. INDULGING IN RESCUE FANTASIES. You know, the voice in your head that says "I'll just carry on like this, something will get sorted out."

WE SAY: Don't kid yourself. What if that someone doesn't come and save you? What if, when he does, he's got his own debts? Be a big girl and take control.

It's OK to look this smug if you're in control of your money.

Reference: dating-coach-anita.blogspot.comAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09816981287589272173noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7832788629786263666.post-51611551218504949402014-11-04T02:23:00.000-08:002014-11-07T12:54:42.714-08:00Oscar Pistorius Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison

* Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to (a deplorable) five living in cell for the departure of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
